For 80 years in the same town, the same street, and the same homes, our family has been dedicated to delivering exceptional service and flooring to the homes and offices of Santa Barbara. We began in 1928 when Stephen "Artie" Douglas, entered the business of hardwood floors in order to survive in the growing economy while running his family ranch. Over the years, he became an expert in the trade and passed his knowledge onto his three sons. Upon his retirement, his middle son, Earl, took over the business. With his honesty and keen business sense Earl grew Douglas Hardwood Floors into what is now known as the best hardwood floor operation in Santa Barbara.

The family tradition carries on in Earl’s sons, Mark and Bruce, who now manage the shop and are teaching their sons the tricks of the trade. If you drive down Douglas Lane after 5pm on a workday, it is almost guaranteed that you will see the men outside discussing business as usual. You won't find a more experienced, knowledgeable and skilled group of people in this trade.

Douglas Hardwood Floors is a member of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), the Santa Barbara Contractors Association, Built Green Santa Barbara and the Better Business Bureau of the Tri-Counties. In addition, we are bonded and insured. Our Contractor’s License No. 341502 is with California Contractors State License Board.
